DJ Chewie, prominently recognized as LKX, stands out as one of Asia's premier house/Techno DJs, boasting over 24 years of professional experience. Originally from Taipei, Taiwan, he relocated to Shanghai 16 years ago and has since made a significant impact on the Asian electronic music scene. In addition to his DJ career, he serves as a booking agent and tour manager for international DJs in Asia.
LKX is also the driving force behind Manchu, his own music label and production house, known for its exceptional music and international DJ bookings. He has showcased his talent at renowned clubs and events across Asia and beyond, including venues in Taipei, Tokyo, Osaka, Sapporo, Seoul, Bangkok, Shanghai, Beijing, Hangzhou, Qingdao, Hefei, and even Vancouver.
Starting his journey in the winter of 1997 in Taipei, LKX initially played house records. Over the years, he has skillfully incorporated a diverse range of sounds, including prog, tech house, breakbeat, and drum 'n' bass, into his sets. Now, he primarily focuses on house music, though he is equally adept at spinning breakbeat-infused tracks. His sets are known for their intellectual depth without sacrificing danceability.
Apart from performing, LKX is instrumental in organizing club nights and special events in Taipei, having introduced internationally acclaimed DJs like Sasha, Lee Burridge, and James Zabiela to the Taiwanese audience. His eclectic taste and commitment to quality music have earned him high praise from peers and fans alike, with several top DJs and producers endorsing his exceptional skills and musical selections.
Currently based in Shanghai, LKX continues to expand his reach, performing in various major cities and maintaining his status as a versatile artist proficient in multiple music genres, including House, Breaks, Tribal, and Progressive.
